Justin Hodgson is an innovative educator and digital transformation leader at Indiana University, where he Co-Directs the system-wide Digital Gardener Initiative, a series of programs focused on faculty development and student success designed to better integrate digital literacy, digital creativity, and digital learning into the classroom. Dr. Hodgson is also an Associate Professor of Digital Rhetoric in the Department of English on the IU Bloomington campus, Director of IUB's Online First-Year Composition program, Founding Editor of the Journal for Undergraduate Multimedia Projects (jumpplus.net), and an Adobe Digital Literacy Thought Leader. He was the 2021 recipient of IU's President's Award for Excellence in Teaching and Learning Technology and the 2015 recipient of IU's Trustees Teaching Award. His research focuses on the intersections of rhetorical studies, emerging media, digital learning, play and game theory, art and aesthetics, and digital pedagogy. Dr. Hodgson has published scholarship in print and digital form, championing both critical and creative engagements, and his book, Post-Digital Rhetoric and the New Aesthetic, was published as an open-access monograph with Ohio State University Press.
