In life and academia, I study the dynamics of collaboration, participation, responsibility, and agency, especially as they intersect with cultural work. My current are of focus is the inequity of participation in small groups based on perceived verbal competence, and the counteractive use of extra-talking methods such as applied theater, with particular emphasis on restorative justice settings. I have been a facilitator and consultant for grassroots social justice organizations for over 20 years, and am also a performance and multimedia artist who specializes in collaborative projects with people who would not call themselves “creative.”
